 * Installed and activated, but no settings and no widget.
    Using twentyten 1.3 
   Tried deactivating all other plugins.

 * The Genesis slider only works with child themes of the StudioPress Genesis framework,
   as it clearly says on the plugin page you linked to. The twentyten theme is not
   a Genesis child theme thus the Genesis Slider won’t work when using it.

 * Yikes, sorry, I’ve never encountered anything like that so I didn’t notice.
