Unfortunately, no. At its core the plugin is a wrapper/extension of Google Docs Viewer (hence the name) which does not support ODF at this time. If it ever does, the plugin will be extended to support it as well.

That’s strange. I would have thought Google would support ODF. I hope that’s only a careless oversight on their part, as opposed to a conscious decision.

The full viewer (as available only within Google Drive) allows export to ODF, but doesn’t support viewing ODF files. So it seems rather intentional. Perhaps only because the format is not very widely used, since OpenOffice and its variants can save natively to supported Word formats? In any case, it’s regrettable, but that’s the current status of ODF support.
