# [Plugin: Google XML Sitemaps] Cannot access sitemap.xml

 * Installed plug-in version 3.1.7 and 3.1.8. sitemap.xml generated fine. I can 
   see it in ftp program, but when trying to access via browser using mydomain.com/
   sitemap.xml It returns a 404 error.
    De-activated all other plugins, regenrated
   sitemap and does not work. Submitted to google and it returned 404 error as well.

 * What happens if you click on the link to your sitemap on the admin interface?
   Same result?

 * Yes. Same result. I can open it via the ftp program with no problem and it appears
   to be formatted correctly.
    I have another site that I use the plug in with and
   it creates a sitemap.xml file that I can view in the browser with no problem.

 * try to use ftp program to set(CHMOD) your sitemap.xml to 644, which will allow
   anonymous read.

 * Thanks for the response, but the permissions are already set to 644.
    Any other
   ideas?
