 * Hi there,
 * Trying to evaluate the best way to get guests to upload items and your solution
   seems quite viable (as I have 8 taxonomies 🙂 ).
 * Is there any way to also upload a featured image?

 * Hey Noel,
 * You are in luck 🙂 I have just tested this on my localhost and it worked great,
   saving to a custom post type called Products.
 * After my post title and taxonomy dropdown field, I added an image field to the
   form (also found under post fields) and in the settings there is a checkbox to
   set it as the featured image.
 * Once the form was submitted, a draft product was created with the taxonomies 
   set and the featured image set to the image I uploaded.
