 * This plugin adds an “Insert Image” button to the top right corner of the edit
screen which opens an image browser to select from all previously uploaded images
and add the appropriate code to the post. If you want, you can consider it a
sort of mini-gallery to select the images from.
    Current features include atomagical
recognization of thumbnails, sorting images by name or by time of last modification
for easy selection and many more. Apart from that, the new version now supports
displaying images on multiple pages in a gallery-like style, thus you can handle
large(r) amounts of images without problems. You can download the plugin [here](http://www.bistr-o-mathik.org/code/wordpress-plugins/).

 * In the zip file, there are 2 php files. The one called image-browser-plugin.php
goes in the plugins directory. The image-browser.php file goes in the wp-admin
   directory.
 * After I activated the plugin and went to edit a post, I saw the Image Browser
button in the quicktag lists. However, it didn’t work. I editted the plugin file
using the plugin editor and changed the quicktag variable at the top to false
as instructed. I saved the file.
 * Then when I went to edit a Post, the “Insert Image” button was not in the quicktags
list, but in the upper righthand corner of the screen aa a link. When I clicked
   on it, it worked.

 * I’m sorry. I have to admit to some ignorance here. I’m not even sure how to properly
get the two files into their respective folders. I’m used to working with Macs
and barely understand words like “directory.”
 * When you say that the files go into the directories, how do you get them there?
Do you use the Upload feature in the Dashboard? Is there another way? Sorry again
that I am a moron. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 * Stakota: I guess you never installed it. Did you download it successfully? Did
you unzip or unpack it it? Not sure what the correct Mac terminology is. In any
case, once you have the 2 files I mentioned above, you have to get them to your
server into the appropriate directory or folder. The upload option only uploads
image files. Do you have ftp?

 * I have FTP on my Mac at home. It’s a program called Transmit. Works just like
all other FTP programs. Should I use that? Is there a way to upload it using
   a browser as well?
 * And thanks for clarifying the upload option.

 * I don’t believe there is any way to upload via a browser. To get any WP plugin
installed, you will need to know how to ftp to your host and put the files into
the appropriate folders. So, you should use Transmit when you get home. If you
need any other help, you can email me or IM me using AIM or MSN.

 * Stakota, some more info: a directory is the same thing as a folder. A subdirectory
is just a directory inside another directory, or a folder insider another folder.
 * When you connect with your FTP program, you should be able to navigate the folders(
directories) on your website just like you do the folders on your own computer.
Just imagine your website as an extension of your own computer, with folders,
files, and folders inside of folders.

 * Ah, yes. That is an excellent analogy. Thank you both so much. You’ve been a
   great help.
