# [Plugin: Inline Google Maps] Map area is blank

 * I just installed the Inline Google Maps plug-in, and followed the developer’s
   excellently detailed instructions at

 *  Yet all I get is a blank grey box with controllers…but no map whatsoever!!! 
   Has anyone else had this problem?

 * If you have visual issues with Google Maps thats because your theme’s style (
   CSS) is incompatible with the one used by Google in their Google Maps application.
 * There is nothing to be fixed in the Google Maps plugin.
 * There are two ways to fix it:
    1. Fix your theme’s CSS 2. Ask Google to change
   the way they do CSS
 * Of course, the easier way is the first one.

 * i hear this the first time. so what do you think in css might make problems? 
   z-index…?
 * because if i insert maps directly from google everything seems to be fine.

 * I’m noticing this too in Internet Explorer 6. Everything works fine in IE7, IE8,
   and Firefox 3. Is there a fix for this?

 * I have this installed on 2.7.1 (plugin version 5.11) and it doesn’t work. It’s
   not the theme because I am using the default theme. On a seperate web site where
   I hadn’t upgraded yet to wp 2.7.1 it was workig fine. Now..not so much
