The error you are seeing is returned from the Amazon Product API, not the plugin. It means that your AWS access key is either not associated with the Product Advertising API or that you are attempting to use an AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) access key instead of your root access key. As of this writing, the Amazon Product Advertising API does not support the use of IAM access keys.
To solve this issue, verify that you are signed up for the Amazon Product Advertising API at the link provided in the error. Also, verify that you are using the root access key and secret key associated with that account. Make sure you securely document your root secret key because the Amazon API will only display it for you once. Otherwise, you will need to create a new root key.

My next suggestion would be to try your access key/secret key/associate tag combination in Amazon’s Scratchpad and see if you get the same error in the Scratchpad Response tab. Use the ItemLookup function with the ASIN you are attempting to use in your shortcode and select “Reviews” as the ResponseGroup. If you see the same error that you’re seeing in the plugin, then some connection between your keys and the Product Advertising API is missing on Amazon’s side. The Scratchpad is here:
