 * From within my WP dashboard, certain posts will not load when I click the “edit”
   button, it just sits there on a blank page. I have narrowed it down to the plugin
   causing the page loading issue since when I deactivated the plugin I could then
   get to my post to edit.
 * Is there something I can do on the post to keep this from happening? I need the
   plugin activated as I use a lot of the features it has available, but I also
   need to be able to edit pages? Thanks for any suggestions.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fplugin-keeps-edit-posts-from-loading%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Hi [@scottfillmer](https://wordpress.org/support/users/scottfillmer/),
   Thanks
   for reaching out about this. I have not been able to replicate this and I do
   not know what could be causing this behavior. Is there any chance you could provide
   some error logs for this? It may require activating error logging and debug mode
   for WordPress. Also, I am very curious if you have browser console errors going
   on that may hint at the issue. Browser Console – how to view[https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/devtools-guide-chromium/console/console-debug-javascript#demo-page-javascript-error-reported-in-the-console-tool](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/devtools-guide-chromium/console/console-debug-javascript#demo-page-javascript-error-reported-in-the-console-tool)
   Debug log documentation.[https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#wp_debug_log](https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/debugging-in-wordpress/#wp_debug_log)
   If you could respond with any errors you find it may help us to identify the
   issue you are facing. It would also be helpful if you could identify some other
   software versions you are running but most important are the Console errors and
   Debug log.PHP Version:WordPress version:CoBlocks version:Best regards.

 * Thanks for the information, I’m actually running this on wp .com under their
   business plan, but I would expect there would be fewer issues over there… anyway,
   I was able to grab a screenshot of my trying to load the edit page (see attached),
   does this help? I can recreate this pretty consistently. It is doing this on
   the first 4-5 posts of mine, yesterday I had several pages (not posts) where
   this was an issue, I ended up deleting the pages and re-creating them to get
   rid of the issue. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Scott
 * sorry, also, as for the versions, it’s whatever .com is running newest

 * Hi [@scottfillmer](https://wordpress.org/support/users/scottfillmer/),
   Thank
   you for the clarification about your hosting. My understanding is when using
   WP.com for hosting, that host uses a modified version of CoBlocks. I believe
   it uses a fork from the Open Source CoBlocks repository but it has been a few
   years since I have seen any movement on the fork. In this case, I would advise
   contacting WordPress.com support concerning that issue. Feel free to point this
   thread out to the team at WordPress.com as well. I cannot pull anything of value
   from those errors on my end but I suspect the WP team may be able to. Any findings
   they have they can pass along to us if the need arises. I hope you find a suitable
   solution to this.Best regards.

 * Hi [@scottfillmer](https://wordpress.org/support/users/scottfillmer/),
   That is
   a frustrating experience to be bounced back and forth. I’ve thought of something
   that may help us a bit more to diagnose the issue you are facing. You mentioned
   that the pages would not allow you to load the editor, but you were able to load
   the pages after disabling CoBlocks. I am curious if there is a combination of
   blocks or specific configurations that might be causing this. Perhaps if you
   were to disable CoBlocks for this purpose, then edit one of the error pages,
   and then copy and paste all of the blocks to us, that should give us the complete
   list of blocks and their respective attributes. I am not sure what could cause
   that behavior but hoping there might be something in the block attributes that
   jumps out. In regards to the copy-paste, it may help to be in the ‘code editor’
   view as can be seen in the lower right-hand corner of this screenshot.

 * I would be happy to do that, how would you like me to get the blocks to you?
   Where would you like me to paste them so you can see them?

 * Here in the thread is just a fine place. You can insert ‘code’ blocks using the
   blue ‘+’ or plus button. The code block should prevent the copy-pasted code from
   taking on additional formatting.

 * ok, so, I still just doubled checked. I could not edit this post [https://scottfillmer.com/2023/11/10/the-national-naval-aviation-museum-photography/](https://scottfillmer.com/2023/11/10/the-national-naval-aviation-museum-photography/)
   in the dashboard with the plugin activated. I deactivated the plugin, then went
   to edit. Then I clicked on the code editor. I copied what was in the body into
   this thread exactly (see below).
 * For reference… this is really just a paragraph with an image gallery. Also, a
   post I did today is basically the same, some text and a gallery, and it seems
   to edit just fine with the plugin activated. That post is –> [https://scottfillmer.com/2023/11/15/rural-shady-grove-cme-church/](https://scottfillmer.com/2023/11/15/rural-shady-grove-cme-church/)
 * Also, just to make sure, I reactivated the plugin and I was NOT able to edit
   the post in question of the code I pasted below.
 *     ```wp-block-code
       <!-- wp:paragraph -->
       <p>I took a trip a while back to the <a href="https://navalaviationmuseum.org">National Naval Aviation Museum</a> in Pensacola Florida and I finally got around to pulling the images from that day. Looking back at these images after so long gives me a huge appreciation for the quality of these museum displays and the history behind how they got there. This truly is a treasure of a museum even if you are not all that interested in aviation. If you are interested in aviation, it has to be one of the must see museums on your list.</p>
       <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

       <!-- /wp:image -->

       <!-- wp:paragraph -->
       <p>Accord to the Museum this is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. They have more than 150 restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. They also have some historic and one-of-a-kind aircraft are displayed both inside the Museum’s over 350,000 square feet of exhibit space and outside on its 37-acre grounds.</p>
       <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

       <!-- wp:paragraph -->
       <p>This was actually my 2nd or 3rd trip to the museum, but the first time I had been able to bring my camera equipment, and the first time I was able to share the experience with two Veterans (Navy and Air Force), which is my Dad and my Father-in-Law (these are the two subjects in the images below). If you are in the Gulf Shores / Orange Beach area this is a great day trip.</p>
       <!-- /wp:paragraph -->

       <!-- wp:paragraph -->
       <p>These images are a little strange to me in that they are both "new" and "old" at the same time. This is the first time they have been published, the first time I've actually gone through them, but they were taken so long ago they already have an historical age attached to them. I'm sure the aviation displays have changed at this point, which makes me want to take another trip down there. For now, the gallery below is from my trip several years ago.</p>

 * [@paranoia1906](https://wordpress.org/support/users/paranoia1906/) just to give
   you an update, I did hear back from WP support saying this is a “known issue”
   they are working on but have no eta for a fix. On a side note, it also sounded
   like they just wanted me to use WP without the plugin, from their language it
   sounded like they wanted me to find an alternative. I love the easy use of color
   blocks and have used them extensively on my site, so my preference would be it
   just works from the WP side and they fix it. Just FYI.

 * Hi [@scottfillmer](https://wordpress.org/support/users/scottfillmer/),
   Thank
   you for the update. I know that over time Core blocks have replaced many of the
   functionalities of CoBlocks, but not all. I see a single commonality between
   the errors you posted and the block attributes in the post-content you have provided._**
   Lightbox**_ is the attribute that sticks out to me. I see that _relatively_ recently,
   WordPress has introduced its own ‘Lightbox’ that seems like it may be conflicting
   with the CoBlocks ‘Lightbox’. Here is the work done on the WordPress side to
   add that functionality.[https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/50373](https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/pull/50373)
   This _may_ be the related issue on the WordPress side that they are referencing
   but I am not positive.[https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/19496](https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/19496)
   I have created a bug report on the CoBlocks GitHub repository for our tracking.
   I hope that we can get into investigation and fix this at some point but it will
   require a lot of thought given the nature of the ‘closed ecosystem’ that WordPress.
   com uses.[https://github.com/godaddy-wordpress/coblocks/issues/2577](https://github.com/godaddy-wordpress/coblocks/issues/2577)
   Best regards.

 * [@paranoia1906](https://wordpress.org/support/users/paranoia1906/) thanks, that’s
   very helpful, at least now I know what to look for, I’m not really utilizing
   the Lightbox for the gallery, but I’ll look into it from my end. Thanks again,
   yeah, I was on the .org side about 10 years ago and couldn’t keep up with updating
   the code base (which is now WAY easier and better), and now I’m way too deep
   into the .com side to swap ugh… thanks again, I really appreciate your help very
   much!

 * Just to follow up with you [@paranoia1906](https://wordpress.org/support/users/paranoia1906/)
   in case someone else runs into this issue, I removed the image and the gallery
   and re-added them (I can’t actually find the option for the WP Lightbox on the
   post options anymore), and once it was saved without Lightbox options I am now
   able to edit the post as usual with the plugin activated.
