# [Plugin: List category posts] Widget Exceprt

 * I have installed this plugin and I like it. It does everything I need however
   the widget option does not show the excerpt. I have checked the excerpt box but
   I only get “…” after the title. Is there something else that needs to be done?

    excerpt=yes in the shortcode.

 * I have the same problem with the widget.
 * In fact the Date, Author, Link to category and Excerpt options do not save and
   appear to have no effect.

 * Actually, there is is a solution. Instead of using this plugin widget, use a 
   text widget. In that widget, use the plugin shortcode [catlist] and specify all
   the options you want (see plugin’s Other Notes). That works!
