# Plugin load error after update

 * Hi,
 * Recently I have updated all my plugins and WordPress to the newest version. Popup
   Maker started throwing an error whenever I went into the Page Editor (using Avada).
   I tried removing the plugin completely and then reinstalling it, but no luck.
 * I read something in the following post:
    _‘WP 4.5 Javascript errors / popups 
   no longer working’_
 * And saw that someone posted the problem:
    _In jQuery v1.11 this was ok and would
   result in the correct selection: jQuery(‘a[href=#]’);
 * _Now it needs to look like this:
    jQuery(‘a[href=”#”]’);
 * My installations:
    _Using WordPress version: 4.9.4–nl\_NL Using Popup Maker version:
   1.6.6
 * The Error itself:

 * The problem doesn’t seem to appear on my laptop, I even tried reinstalling Chrome
   on my desktop. But they are synced to the same google account. I have no idea
   how to fix this now.

 * I found the fix!
 * I was using Adblock chrome extension (not Adblock Plus)
 * And ticked the following setting **off**:
    – Fanboy’s Annoyances (blocks in-page
   pop-ups, social media and related widgets, and other annoyances)

 * The setting was on at my desktop, and off at my laptop. Problem solved, I hope
   this can be added to the solutions of the pinned posts.

   petitioned [@fanboy](https://wordpress.org/support/users/fanboy/) to remove it
   or fix it. His rule for blocking popup maker was meant to target one specific
   url which was overspammy to him I’m guessing. But the rule doesn’t get applied
   properly to only that url. Guessing mismatch in rule definition and adblock implementation
   etc.
 * Not much we can do about it, that said the fanboy list is not on by default and
   has to be explicitly enabled.
