 * Can one additional field be added to the widget? Right now I have FNAME LNAME
   and EMAIL, I would like to add a PHONE.

 * Yes, I’m dealing with the same issue. This plug-in would be so much more powerful
   if additional fields could be added. I need to be able to add a ZIPCODE and a
   COUNTRY.

 * Yes, because it’s about collecting information for marketing purposes and being
   able to write “hi, so-and-so” or only email alerts to people from one region 
   in a tailored way, or being able to phone subscribers if they win a competition
   without having to contact them again for their number…

 * anyone know of a mailchimp WP widget that DOES allows the addition of other custom
   fields? yes i know there is a lot to be said for ONLY requiring the email field,
   but there are other use cases where extra info is needed. we need a postcode 
   field on something.
