# [Plugin: Mini Loops] Basic shortcode issues: excerpt length, "after"

 * Cool plug-in, but I’m having trouble working with the shortcode to make a few
   basic tweaks. I’d like to increase the default length of the excerpts (specifying
   it as a number of words–say, 25) and change the link text that appears after 
   each item (from “…” to “(Read more.)”). I’ve tried what I assumed was the obvious
   approach…
 * `[miniloop number_posts=20 categories=18 wlength=25 after='... Read more.']`
 * …but that doesn’t work. I still seem to be getting the default settings. I guess
   I’m not clear on the basic syntax for the shortcode. Can you help?
 * FYI, I’m using a customized child theme based on Justin Tadlock’s Hybrid skeleton.
