Last modified: August 19, 2016 --- # [Plugin: Multisite User Management] Update for 3.1? * Resolved [squidgemonster](https://wordpress.org/support/users/squidgemonster/) * (@squidgemonster) * [15 years, 3 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-multisite-user-management-update-for-31/) * I’m having a bit of difficulty making this plug-in behave as it did when I tested it a while back (before the release of WP3.1). * Previously I managed to make it so that all new registered users were automatically added to all sites on the network as subscribers… for some reason, now they only get added as subscribers to the other sub-sites, but not the top level website. * It appears there’s a menu option missing in the Network Admin > Settings page which allows the default subscriber role to be selected, as I seem to remember previously? Does the plug-in need an update for 3.1 or am I missing something? According to the [Codex Network](http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network#User_Access) article: * > all users who are added to your network will have subscriber access to all > sites on your network * So if you want all users to receive a subscriber role, then you don’t need this plugin anymore. * Thread Starter [squidgemonster](https://wordpress.org/support/users/squidgemonster/) * (@squidgemonster) * [15 years, 3 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-multisite-user-management-update-for-31/#post-1964324) * Mmm – I’ve noticed that they’ve said this, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be the case, any interrogations by role don’t flag those users as subscribers for each site – and they’re not listed on the individual blog user lists as subscribers( which your plug-in does do) – I don’t know if this is a fault with my installation of 3.1, or something I’m missing in the set-up of 3.1, but I do think your plug- in is still of use going forward. * I think the key here is that they say ‘subscriber access’ but the user isn’t actually registered as a subscriber for the individual site, which is different.
