# [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Customise NextGEN?

 * Hi,
 * I was looking for a gallery to fit my needs when stumbled upon nextGEN. I installed
   it started playing around. I really like the simplicity.
 * I played around a bit and wondered if it is possible to customise it somewhat,
   making it fit some of needs. Making small adjustments like adding the date to
   a gallery or the way an image shows when you click on it except by changing the
   option in the style menu?
    Do you need to get into the code?
 * If it is possible, are there tutorials available on doing this. If not are there
   any other galleries who can? and which gallery should I then use?

 * If you want to change layout or design you can do that in nggfunctions.php and
   the stylesheet as well

 * Ok thanks! I figured out the stylesheet part now. It starting to look the way
   I want it to look.
 * Are there any documents on changing such a file as nggfunctions.php or is it 
   just coming down to php? I guess wanting something like showing a featured gallery
   in a sitebar has to be written in that file to? Can’t seem to find something 
   like a plugin for that.
