# [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Navigation Errors

 * I have Nextgen installed on a test site. I started getting navigation errors 
   whenever the permalinks are activated in WordPress. Permalinks are NOT activated
   in NG.
 * When using [ imagebrowser id-x ] the naviagation returns a 404 error for a blog
   page. The other modes seem to work normally.
 * This is with any theme but 2010 is up right now for testing.
 * I have tried versions 1.8.1, 1.8.0 and 1.7.4. I completely erased the web site(
   both WP files and DB) and started over thinking something was wrong but the behavior
   is the same.

 * I tried 1.7.2 also and it has the same behavior.
 * I tried another site and see that the working navigation URI is something like…/?
   pid=x and the links that are failing on my site are in the form of …/?pid=x&page_id
   =x.
 * This is the same whether the WP permalinks are enabled or not. When disabled,
   the problem part of the link must not matter. When permalinks _are_ enabled, 
   WP must handle it in a different way.
 * So, it looks like NG is adding something that should not be there. Any ideas 
   on how it fix the links?
 * EDIT: changed the theme to Minimalist so I can continue working on it. I’ll roll
   it back to 2010 if someone needs me to.

 * Looks like there is no solution for this so I’ll put this update here for anyone
   doing a search in the future.
 * I installed the plugin “WordPress NextGen GalleryView” and that is what you see
   currently. It provides a similar look as the imagebrowser shortcode would.
