• Clean install of wordpress I created to test out NextGen on a live server. It is on a sub-domain.

When I try to add new gallery I get this message:

Directory wp-content/gallery/ is not writeable !
Check this link, if you didn’t know how to set the permission : http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Changing_File_Permissions

I changed gallery to 775, then wp-content to 775. Still got the error. Changed gallery to 777, still didn’t work. Then I changed wp-content to 777 and it allowed me to create the new gallery. If I understand permissions correctly, leaving them at 777 is really bad to do. So I could switch them back and forth each time I wish to create a new album. Curious if anyone knows of a fix that wouldn’t require that?

It was working fine on the virtual server.

I can upload images with no problem, even with permissions at 755.

    Thanks.
