# Plugin not actually generating an email

 * Hello, I have just installed the plugin and created my first “notification”, 
   for when a new post is published. I used the “send me a test email” button to
   test it and the plugin said the notification email had been sent (to me)… But
   nothing’s arrived.
 * I haven’t yet actually “live” tested it, by publishing a new actual post. About
   to try that.

 * Now tried a “live” publish (with a quick trashing) and still no notification 
   🙁

 * There’s lots of reasons why emails may not be delivered. Can you make your way
   through [this document on email deliverability](https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/getting-started/how-to-improve-email-delivery/)
   and let me know how you get on?
