• Hi there,

I’m a member of the Pressable CS Team and one of our mutual customers reached out to inform us that the SSP plugin isn’t automatically populating metadata for files.

We’ve tested this on a fresh install with only SSP and can see that the file’s metadata is present and correctly populated in the WordPress media library, and also shows in the async-upload.php request when uploading via “Podcasting” > “Add New Episode”:

Based on this, we would expect that the same data would automatically be picked up/populated by SSP. We’re hoping you might be able to assist in reviewing this and let us know if it’s something you’ve seen before or have some insight into what might cause the plugin to not pick this data up.

If you’d like access to the test site we’re using, please provide an e-mail address and we’ll be happy to create a user for you.

    Thanks!

    Hi @itsrobyn,
Did you check those fields before publishing the episode or after? Can you confirm that they weren’t populated after the episode was published?

Hi @zahardoc, I can confirm that the fields aren’t populated before or after publishing.

@itsrobyn If you don’t see them before publishing, that’s expected — the fields are updated when you save the episode. If they’re still not appearing after saving, please check your error logs – do you see any errors showing up?

Hi @zahardoc no errors/warnings, etc. are logged anywhere during the full process of creating a new episode, uploading the file and publishing.

Both the post.php and /wp-json/wp/v2/podcast/{POST_ID} that are fired off when publishing show no duration/filesize values:

The same file in the Media Library:

We’ve released version 3.14.1 — can you try updating the plugin and checking if the file fields updating correctly for you?
