What? I am using your plugin.

I type in #viral or I type in anything for that matter into the visual editor after a # and it doesn’t work.

The hashtags disappear and nothing is saved to the tags section.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Please try to deactivate all other plugins except hashtagger. If it works than please activate all the other plugins you need one by one and test which one causes hashtagger not to work. Let me know about the result and I’ll try to fix the problem.

You can’t include the “#” symbol in the tag slug. So if you want #viral to work, you’ll need the tag title as “#viral” and the slug as “viral”.

Correction, you can’t include the “#” symbol in either tag title or slug. When typing “#viral” into your content, it should link to your tag marked “viral.” But when adding tags into post via the wp-admin tags sidebar, make sure to leave out the “#” symbol.

The hashtagger plugin automatically creates the tags, you don’t have to add it. The tags are generated without “#”.
