   as to why, or what might be interfering?

 * Since you’re using WP Engine’s CDN, it’s best to ask them about the issue. BWP
   Minify provides all the headers a CDN would need but look like the CDN could 
   not use them, hence the uncompressed JS/CSS files.
 * You can post their replies here and I will see what I can do.
