# Plugin ONLY available for PHP8+ ???

 * Can someone please tell me WHY the latest update of this plugin has been set 
   to have the required PHP version at 8.0?
 * Considering that PHP 8.x isn’t fully compatible with WordPress, I Don’t think
   this is a good decision at all, this basically means this plugin cannot be updated(
   particularly in my case).
 * I don’t run any sites on PHP 8 because as stated by WordPress here ([https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/references/php-compatibility-and-wordpress-versions/](https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/references/php-compatibility-and-wordpress-versions/)),
   it’s not yet fully compatible.
 * It’s my strong opinion that this should be changed, so the plugin can be updated
   on 7.4 and above. Even WordPress state the recommend version if 7.4 or higher(

 * You are probably right; that may have been premature.
 * I’ve relaxed that requirement back down to 7.0.
 * I really like to maintain backwards compatibility in all of my plugins, so that
   they can be helpful to as many folks as possible, but I also like to nudge everyone
   forward towards the better & the faster.
 * I’ve just released 3.3.1 to change that header tag.
 * For what it’s worth, there is no PHP8-specific code to worry about, so systems
   running older versions of PHP will be OK for a long while yet.
