When I activate the Testimonials Plugin, it shows up on the Dashboard menu but it replaces the option for a slider that I also have installed.

Right, I have the theme Corpo installed on my site. It requires the use of the Corpo Toolkit plugin to display the slider on the front page. However when I activate the Testimonials plugin, the menu item for testimonials replaces the slider in the admin settings.

Which slider plugin is installed? I would guess it’s unlceanly using using menu_position when it registers its custom post type via http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Function_Reference/register_post_type.

I would suggest removing the menu_position entry from the slider code.
