# [Plugin: Permalink Editor] Permalink Alias Not Working

 * I’m using version 0.2.12 of Permalink Editor and version 3.1.2 of WordPress.
 * The Permalink Alias function does not seem to work.
 * Assume the following. I had a page – [http://www.website.com/category/page1](http://www.website.com/category/page1)
 * I used the Customise button to change the Permalink to – [http://www.website.com/page1](http://www.website.com/page1)
   and the I entered category/page1 in the field under Permalink Alias. I updated
   and saved the page. But the 301 redirect is not working.
 * When I go to the old Permalink – [http://www.website.com/category/page1](http://www.website.com/category/page1)
   it displays fine instead of redirecting to the new Permalink – [http://www.website.com/cpage1](http://www.website.com/cpage1).
 * Now the new Permalink does work. It is just the Permalink Alias which is not 
   working.
