 * Hi,
 * Just upgraded to the latest version of Permalink Redirect (v1.0) – this caused
   URLs to stop redirecting from old permalink structure to new and also i cannot
   find the permalink direct admin area in WP admin any longer.

 * Hi. I am the author of [Permalink Redirect](http://scott.yang.id.au/code/permalink-redirect/),
   but has no affiliation with the “permalink redirect” plugin that WordPress’ auto-
   update manager picked up, which appears to be a different plugin but with the
   same name.
 * Mine has never gone 1.0 so for now please grab the latest version from my site
   while I am trying to work out how WP’s auto-update mechanism can break an existing
   working plugin this way…

 * Your plugin works MUCH better – I now see what you mean – wordpress is alerting
   admins to auto-update the [WRONG plugin](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/permalink-redirect/)(
   because it’s named the same!)
 * Oh boy.
 * Deactivating Joost’s plugin and re-uploading/activating yours did the trick.
