 * Hi all.
    All of a sudden I got problems with searching, installing and updating
   plugins. Updating ends with a maintenance message on the live site that will
   not go away until I erase the .maintenance file. It all seems to be aa writing
   problem but permissions are normal and a couple of times I DID manage to install
   plugins.
 * Everything in WordPress works just fine except under “Plugins” that is VERY slow
   and mostly ends with an error. Different messages. This is the most common:
    “
   An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this
   server’s configuration.” Disabled all nonessential plugins but no difference
 * I run an Apache+Nginx server. Have 6 different WordPress web sites and none of
   the others have any problem.
    I increased max_memory_limit to 300. Then I tried
   to increase the value to 600, no difference. I increased the limit in Apache
   php.ini and in wpconfig.php Searched the web and got some suggestions to fix
   this but none of them helped.
 * Have an ice day /Jan

 * Hi,
 * Perhaps a completely different issue but I just lost an afternoon to the error“
   An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this
   server’s configuration.” This was seen whenever trying to update WP core, a theme
   or plugin from my local machine.
 * To cut a very long story short, which involves me messing with firewalls, hosts
   file and curl. The issue for me seems to be that my IP (or range perhaps) was
   somehow blocked from accessing api.wordpress.org
 * Solution: Hotspot via my mobile which of course changed my IP and then everything
   worked. So now i’m using my VPN to do updates.
 * Hopes this helps you or someone else save a few hrs. If not best of luck.
 * Cheers

 * Hi
    Interesting “theory” I use NoIP for my work computer. I have been away for
   a couple of hours. Now back and POOF, it works again. I do not know if the dynamic
   IP changed when I was away since I can not find a way to see WHEN it changed,
   but will definitely be the first thing to look into next time it happens. Does
   that mean NoIP use blacklisted IP’s? Must look into that also, can not have that.
   Thanks /Jan
