 * Hello,
 * I hope that this is in the right group as it looked like I am not able to post
   into the “Plugins” section.
 * Basically what I have going on is I have a site that I am working on but it has
   been around for a few years. There is some plugins that are there that might
   be out dated and maybe too much on resources or inefficient. I wanted to get
   some feedback on the plugins that are used to see if there is a more efficient
   plugin that I could use that would do the same thing or anythign recommendations
   you might have that can help the site be more efficient.
 * Plugins:
 * **Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection** – This was setup to prevent SPAM and other
   malicious attacks
 * **All in One SEO** – Optimize SEO
 * **Business Contact Widget** – This was used to put a contact details in
 * **Chaty** – This was used to create a option to have a Facebook Messenger Icon
 * **GTranslate** – Translator
 * **ImageMagick Engine** – I am not certain on this one, I think it was used to
   resize pictures reading by the descrption
 * **Jetpack** – Mostly to monitor website website performance, downtime alerts
 * **Jetpack Boost** – No idea really as I think this was installed when Jetpack
   was installed.
 * **Loginizer** – Login Security
 * **Simple History** – Monitor changes on the site via a Log
 * **Site Kit by Google** – Installed with Google Analytics which is no longer used
 * **W3 Total Cache** – Installed for Caching website to help load faster
 * **Widget Importer & Exporter** – I think this was used to upload widgets to the
   site. It has not been used in some time it looks like.
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fplugin-questions-25%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

   _W3 Total Cache – Installed for Caching website to help load faster_[https://wordpress.org/plugins/W3-Total-Cache/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/W3-Total-Cache/)**
   You can remove this one, since you have Jetpack boost:**[https://jetpack.com/blog/finding-the-best-wordpress-speed-plugin-6-plugins-and-6000-real-websites-tested/](https://jetpack.com/blog/finding-the-best-wordpress-speed-plugin-6-plugins-and-6000-real-websites-tested/)

   You can remove this one, although it just adds few load on plugin page and when
   using it.**
 *     ```wp-block-code
       In bold, I've mentioned what you can remove do to being unused or doing a function another plugin you have, giving preference to the one that looks better.I've left the links to the plugins, so you can check their page if you will.About the plugins that add widget and contact page, you can disable them and check if the features will still be there and remove them if you want, although if the features they've added are still there it means they likely are using no resource beyond that.Check if you can improve the position of the Contact widget, likely given by Business Contact Widget, and the extra search input because for me the layout for them look broken, it is really weird for it to show up in front of you content.Overall, about the plugins, you are good, only W3 Total Cache seems redundant.

 * I had to keep W3 Total Cache. I looked at Jetpack Boost and there was not premium
   subscription for it. I actually ended up removing Jetpack Boost.
 * I also removed the following:
    - _Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection_ – Jetpack seems to do this job
    - _ImageMagick Engine_ – Didnt need it
    - _Jetpack Boost_ – No Subscription Active
    - _Loginizer_ – Jetpack seems to do this job also
    - _Widget Importer & Exporter_ – This has not been used in some time. If needed
      it can be installed again and used as needed.

 * Jetpack integrates with Akismet, but it does not have any anti-spam features
   itself.

 * Sorry I was thinking of the Protect feature of Jetpack.

 * Jetpack Protect stops brute-force login attacks, meaning that if someone repeatedly
   tries to log in with a wrong username or password, they’re completely locked
   out for an amount of time that increases with every failed attempt.
