# Plugin Request, Amazon S3 URL Generator

 * I’ve been looking for a plugin that can generate a Amazon S3 Query string protected
   URL to prevent people from hotlinking to our content. Some more info about the
   problem [here](http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/message.jspa?messageID=91158).
 * The basic idea is this. Use a script similar to this [this one](http://www.fused.org.uk/2008/08/s3-query-string-authentication-generator/)
   and then just make it possible to create a url with some kind of syntax like.
 * [S3 EXPIRE=60 URL=http://myfile.amazon.com/mysong.mp3]
 * and that will generate a URL that will expire in 60 minutes. Something like that.
   All the settings for KEY’s and stuff could be direct in the PHP file and so on..
 * I’m suprised this doesnt exist 🙂
 * Ps. I know that there is a Amazon S3 plugin but it doesn’t do this as far i have

 * I took my crazy skills in PHP and did it myself.
 * So if anyone happens to run into the same problem as me .. check this post.
