# Plugin shortcode not working on custom theme

 * I’m trying to add a google map plugin to this page, the shortcode shows up on
   the page but not the plugin. I’ve used almost a dozen different plugins for different
   things on the website and none of them work when using the shortcode.
    Am I missing
   something here? Thanks

 * Yes, same thing happens. Only the shortcode comes up and nothing else. This is
   with dozens of plugins, so there is something missing from the code.
    Anyone 
   have experience with this?

 * If you are seeing shortcodes on the front end of your site, then either you theme
   is not parsing them correctly or another plugin is interfering with shortcode
   parsing.

 * Have you tried to create your own simple shortcode and see if it is working?
 * If you are not sure how to add the shortcode, check this out.

 * If that doesn’t work too, then as esmi said, probably your theme isn’t quite 
   doing correctly.

   and tried turning them on 1 by 1, and it still didn’t work.

   theme” is more custom than anything else. I coded most of it and I though I had
   all the necessary code to make the plugins work on the pages. But i’m missing
   something and I have a feeling that it’s something obvious that I’m not seeing.

 * No. Deactivate ALL plugins, _leave them off_ and switch to the Twenty Twelve 
   theme. Now do you have the same problem with – for example, inserting a captioned
   image (which uses a shortcode by default)?
