 * Why is this plugin in the repository without a screenshot?
 * I don’t know what the rules are and if someone was supposed to enforce this or
not, but I am sick and tired of wasting my time sifting through this plugin directory,
which ALWAYS pulls up so many absurd results that the only choice you have is
but to sort by relevance…… and then I click in and out of plugins, taking all
day, and then I find one I’m willing to try and THERE’S NO SCREENSHOT.
 * Unless your plugin simply cannot be pictured with a screenshot using the current
default WordPress theme, UPLOAD A SCREENSHOT!!
 * Where do I go to find out more about the policies of plugin review and approval
and how to get any necessary policies changed?

 * Bump.
 * As we learned last year when malicious code made it into the WordPress plugin
repository, we need to know who approves plugins…
 * And there aren’t any screenshots of this product on the author’s website, either.

 * “Why is this plugin in the repository without a screenshot?”
    There is no requirement
that they have to have them.

    Generally, I do.

 * Alright then, people submitting plugins for download should be submitting a screenshot
so we can see the facility is there. We need to embark on a process to make this
   mandatory, because it’s customary practice.
 * And, who are you?

 * The point about it being customary would be moot if I could search the directory
and actually apply a useful filter, so that every search doesn’t return 20,000
plugins and then sorting it becomes fruitless.
 * 30 seconds of the writer’s time saves me 30 minutes every freaking time I have
to go looking for a plugin.. and it saves bandwidth… of course searching on par
with the technologies available since the turn of the century would be awesome,
but in the meantime, working with what we have, screen shots need to be mandatory,
because this is a ridiculous waste of time when we’re looking for something new.
 * Please don’t write sincere or snarky replies about the ways I could go about
finding out the de facto plugin to download, the point is it all takes time that
if I didn’t get 20,000 results for every search, we could get on with our work.

 * Some plugins do not require a screenshot.
Plugin authors can see what others
do and as their writing the plugin is already something they are doing for free
for anyone then imposing a condition that may not apply will just discourage
people from creating plugins. If you are unhappy about how a plugin is presented
   do not use it.
 * > And, who are you?
 * Meaning what? I have been here in these forums and involved with WordPress since
   version 1.0 back in 2004.
 * Search is not perfect but it is improving.
