 * Our Post SMTP plugin mysteriously stopped working right around the time that
   we changed hosting. We’re having trouble diagnosing the issue ourselves and are
   hoping that we could get some assistance. Plain english explanations/instructions
   are greatly appreciated!
 * Here’s a video that described the issue, as far as I’m capable of seeing: [https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8umP7JK](https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8umP7JK)

 * Hi Alex,
 * Looks like your hosting with WPEngine? As far as I’m aware, they don’t have any
   kind of SMTP facility available. You’d need to send your messages through another
   SMTP provider.
 * Looking at your MX records, GoDaddy seem to be your mail provider, so perhaps
   you can set up an SMTP account there and point to that?
 * Does that help?
 * Kind Regards,
    Tim

 * Do you have any instructions? We have an IT company that manages this sort of
   thing, but they’re asking us what we need them to do…

 * Hi Alex,
 * You need to create a mail account on your GoDaddy hosting, and then connect in
   with that. Check the GoDaddy documentation for the SMTP server, but if you are
   based in America, the outgoing mail server should be: `smtpout.secureserver.net`
 * Your `localhost` setting for the SMTP server is the problem here. Hope this helps.
   🙂
 * Kind Regards,
    Tim

 * This issue has been resolved.
 * We needed to re-configure the plugin and use the Office 365 smtp details described
   in this article (option #1): [https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-microsoft-365-or-office-365](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-microsoft-365-or-office-365)
