# plugin stops working

 * I’ve found that this plugin (and another similar LDAP plugin) will stop working
   after a few hours (or sometimes minutes). A user will attempt to login and get
   a message about the LDAP server not being available. When this occurs, I just
   disable the plugin and reenable it. Everything comes back normally. Is something
   getting cached? Is their some kind of timeout with the server I may be able to
   adjust? Any thoughts?

 * There is no caching enabled. If the error message is that the server isn’t available,
   then something failed in the connection and initial bind stage. If you have shell
   access, next time this happens, I would try connecting to ldap from the server
   and see if you see a similar issue. I have seen problems in the past where host
   caching is enabled on the server. if the lookup for some reason fails, it wont
   requery dns for the ip.
 * alternatively, I can share some ldap testing code with you so you can eliminate
   any wordpress interference.
