 * i think subscribe2 is a great product (plugin) and i was looking at buying the
   html version to extend the abilities i needed. but after looking at the $40 price
   tag i think i’ll pay someone else for their services.
 * i’d happily pay $20, but as the upgrade goes through another site. i think i’d
   be paying service charged and not complimenting the author for his ability!!
 * set up paypal and get rid of the inflated price please.

 * The paid version has always been $40. I used to accept PayPal and deal with sales
   myself but it took up far too much time hence the move to the WPPlugins site.
 * I’m sorry you don’t feel the extended HTML version is worth $40.

 * I came across this post trying to look for a way to contact you.
    So I use this
   post to make my point as well.
 * Having a non commercial blog I’m careful where to spend my euros. I think that
   Subscribe2 is a terrific product. But for my needs I want to use the extended
   HTML version. I want to be able to add images to my emails. So Subscribe2 with
   HTML it must be.
 * I think that $40 for such a product is a good investment. The thing that holds
   me back is the support charges pro month. I know, I know, the product and support
   needs to be funded. And you probably spend a lot of time supporting this product.
 * But I don’t like this kind of subscriptions. I prefer to pay a bit more, or pay
   for a support case. I don’t mind to pay an upgrade once in a while. But subscriptions,
   no. So the end result is the same as Joz… and that is a pity.

 * The support package is not compulsory and can be cancelled at any time. However,
   if you do this you’d have to pay for any future releases again at full price.
 * As you say, I put a lot of time into developing and supporting the plugin – a
   lot of this is done for free. However, I personally don’t want an HTML version
   because I believe that email was never intended to take HTML code – it’s not 
   standards complaint, it’s all to common in spam and junk mail and can be used
   to deliver viruses in ways beyond what plaintext could do.
 * So, for those reasons I make a charge for the HTML code. It’s that same charge
   I’ve made for the last 4 years so changing it now would be disrespectful to all
   those who have already paid.
