    Firstly, thanks to MattyRob for this bloody brilliant piece of code – and support. 100 House Points to you mate.

    I’m just wondering if there’s a hack to set the trigger to send my weekly digest on or around Friday afternoon?

    Is the easiest way to change it at that time?

    Thanks in advance, Callum.

  • @callummccormick,

    Thanks for the house points 🙂

    By far the easiest way to fine tune the cron tasks date and time is by installing the WP-Crontol plugin and editing the times and frequencies in there.

    Another plugin? Woops, I’m already at 16 major plugins for this site 🙂

    OK, I’ll give it a go.

    Is this one of yours..?

    I’m all installed with wp-crontrol and I can see that I now have a new schedule in Subsribe2 that I’ve setup – but I can’t find how to set the first initial trigger-time.

    Any idea how I can start the ball rolling at say 01:00am on a Saturday (I need to hit the USA market first thing Saturday morning with all my blog updates) so that it continues each week at approximately the same time?

    @callummccormick,

    When you schedule the event for the first time in Subscribe2 a baseline time is set as ‘now’ – the time when you made the setting.

    All posts between ‘now’ and your scheduled time will be included.

    If you want to set the baseline time to a past time that involves some digging about in the database. Is that what you need to do?

    OK, so to confirm. If I want the trigger time to be say midnight on a Friday, all I do is change and save the time at midnight on that day manually – and that’s when the timer is reset..?

    In which case, can I just do this with your weekly schedule in Subscribe2 and delete the wp-crontrol plugin?

    Thanks in advance mate.

    Callum.

    @callummccormick,

    Once the task is set it will continue to run on that interval until you stop it. Once the time is set to Friday afternoon you can delete WP-Crontrol and leave it to run.

    OK. I’ll diary to manually change the trigger point myself on Friday (it’s currently Sunday) then delete the plugin.

    Take care and good luck. It’s people like you that make it all worth-while.

    Cheers,

    Callum.
