# plugin template issue, updates itself

 * Hi, I modified the wp-content/plugins/yith-woocommerce-gift-cards/templates/ywgc-
   gift-card-template.php file through code (hiding some parts, changing style of
   others) but sometimes it comes back on the original. How can I prevent this?
 * Updates and similar are disabled, I’m on free version.

 * It’s recommended to do this by overriding the template directly in your theme.
   You can do this by copying the template, pasting it into the following directory,
   and editing it from there:
 *     ```wp-block-code
       \wp-content\themes\your-active-child-theme\woocommerce\yith-gift-cards\
       ```
