 * Using latest WP installation version, when I try to initially connect the plugin
   to my Mailchimp account using the Connect button in the WP installation, I’m
   getting the same 500 error others are noting.
 * I’ve asked WP Engine, my host to whitelist your IPs & the domain you listed in
   earlier posts here. I’ve also deactivated all plugins & cleared my cache. The
   500 error is still happening.
 * This is greatly frustrating and renders Mailchimp almost unusable. You can’t
   want this problem, yet I see it’s so common in the WP threads.

 * Hey richards1052!
 * I noticed you’d posted in another thread, which I’d just replied to. I want to
   make sure you get that info, so I’ve pasted it below:

    Hey richards1052,
 * Thanks for dropping by the forum.
 * We’ve actually been receiving some similar reports from other users, and the
   plugin developers are aware of the issue. It looks like the problem first appeared
   with the introduction of WP 4.0, so we’re actually about to update the plugin
   in response (pending approval from WordPress). I’ll actually be posting an update
   to the forums once we’ve heard more information, but I’d definitely encourage
   checking out this thread for more information and suggestions:

 * We really appreciate your patience. I’ll be sure to provide updates as we get
   them!

 * Hey richards1052!
 * I’m happy to confirm that ver. 1.4.2 is now available for download. You should
   see an option to update to the latest version of the plugin from within your
   site’s dashboard.
 * Thanks again for being so patient. Let us know if there’s anything else we can
   help with!
