# Plugin to patch WP Core

 * As I have a number of users who keep forgetting their passwords, I wanted to 
   add the ability to email users their password when they change it. My website
   is small, and I’m not ultra concerned with password security. I couldn’t find
   a plugin that would do this, but patching the code directly seems easy enough,
   even for someone like me who doesn’t know PHP. Problem is I don’t want to have
   to do it every time there’s an update. Is there a plugin that would let me semi-
   autonomously patch or modify the code of core files?

 * Hopefully not! Modifying core files is flat out a bad idea.
 * Why can’t your users just use the lost password link on your WordPress login 
   form?

 * Well, does anyone know of an ‘autopatcher’ utility? Perhaps something that runs
   in Windows, grabs the PHP file by FTP, modifies it, and uploads it back?
