# Plugin update fails

 * I’m trying to update the plugin from version 2.8 to version 2.13 and get this
   message:
 * Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy
   some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.
 * Other plugin updates on the same website work fine so it does not seem to be 
   a file permissions problem.
 * Please advise.

 * I’ve changed file permissions to 777 and get the same error message.

 * I was able to get the plugin updated by changing the plugin dir owner.
