Plugin Won't Install From Admin Area

    I released a plugin today called Civil Footnotes. It installs fine if you download from the Plugin Directory page and upload to /wp-content/plugins/ but it refuses to install through the admin interface. I get the following error text:

    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/civil-footnotes.1.0.zip…

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the plugin…

    The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.

    Plugin install failed.

    I’m really confused what the problem is. Is it because I just released it today? Something to do with WordPress’s backend? Any help is greatly appreciated.
