 * Have been trying to update Events Made Easy for some time now and keep getting
an error message saying – An error occurred while updating Events Made Easy:
The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files.
This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions. dompdf/lib/php-font-lib/.
   htaccess.old
 * I have spoken with our web hosting company and they advised me to change our
php system from 5.5 to 5.6 which i have but nothing has changed.
 * I have basic knowledge of website design (have taken over an already built website)–
please help in simple terms! 🙂

 * Like it says in the error:
This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.
   dompdf/lib/php-font/lib/.htaccess.old
 * So: either correct those file permissions (most likely ownership is wrong) or
remove it (since you’ll update anyway)

 * So like I said above, I have super basic knowledge of the website design/build
so how do I correct file permissions? We don’t use code to make changes

 * I said: correct it or remove it. If you don’t know how to correct it, remove
the whole plugin folder and just reinstall the plugin again, no data will be
   lost.
Btw: this is beyond the scope of EME 🙂
