 * The plug-in renders fine on the page I set it for. However, it seems to be looking
   for a captcha tool of some sort and I have not been able to turn that off or 
   figure out which captcha should be installed.

 * I would suggest downloading the 2.7 version from [http://WordpressGuestPost.com](http://WordpressGuestPost.com)
   and see if that solves your issue
