# [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] Shared SSL Error – No Permalinks

 * I’ve been reading up here and it looks like most people are having trouble with
   shared SSL and permalinks working together, but I can’t get shared SSL to work
   without the permalinks either…
 * I am trying to use:
    [https://secure.server.com/~user/wordpres/?page_id=31](https://secure.server.com/~user/wordpres/?page_id=31)
   which redirects to [https://secure.server.com/~user/wordpres/~user?page_id=31](https://secure.server.com/~user/wordpres/~user?page_id=31)
   or [https://secure.server.com/~user/~user/wordpres/?page_id=31](https://secure.server.com/~user/~user/wordpres/?page_id=31)
 * I have tried this on versions 3.1.2, 3.1.1 and 3.0.4 all with the same result.
 * Any ideas?

 * I notice that this problem seems to stem from setting port 443 to be the secure
   port. Without that setting, the url is set correctly, but it is redirected to
   http instead of https.
