# [Plugin: WordPress Importer] "Missing a temporary folder." Importer

 * Hi, I just installed WordPress Importer to import a 47.8KB xml file generated
   by wordpress to be re-imported. Whenever I try to upload & import the file, it
   says:
 * “Sorry, there has been an error.
    Missing a temporary folder.”
 * Any ideas on what’s going on?

 * Sounds like a configuration issue to me. That error is generated internally by
   PHP (`UPLOAD_ERR_NO_TMP_DIR`), it means that PHP doesn’t have a temporary directory
   to store uploads before they are move to a permanent location. Surely adding 
   media items doesn’t work either (Media > Add New)?
 * You’ll need to speak to your hosting provider about fixing this.
