# [Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] Cannot enter category IDs in widget

 * Hi,
 * I’ve installed the wordpress popular posts plugin and in the widget I check the
   exclude categories checkbox. I was expecting the possibility to add the IDs from
   the categories that I want to exclude there, but there is no filed where I can
   do this. Is this possible?
 * Also, can I user shorttags in a text widget? [wpp] allows more options as the
   widget has.

 * Hi George,
 * You clicked on the _Save_ button after ticking the _Exclude categories_, right?
   Once you do that, you should see an input box below where you can type in the
   categories you want to have excluded.
 * Both the [wpp] shortcode and the widget version offer the exact same options.
   And yes, you should be able to use the [wpp] shortcode on a text widget.

    I didn’t save so that’s why the field where to put cat ids did 
   not appear.
