# [Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] No Thumbnail

 * Hola Hector. Gracias por el magnifico plugin!!
 * Al actualizar a la nueva versión 2.1.6 , el plugin ya no muestra las miniaturas
   como lo hacia anteriormente, sale una imagen de NO THUMBNAIL.
 * Solo muestra las imagenes que insertas como destacadas, pero no si la insertas
   en el post, Con la versión anterior no había ningún problema.
 * Alguna solución?

 * En versiones anteriores, mi plugin utilizaba un script llamado TimThumb para 
   generar las imágenes en caso de que el usuario configurase WPP para que se encargara
   de crear los thumbnails.
 * El problema es que este script tiene (o tuvo) problemas de seguridad que afectaron
   a varios blogs en la web (o tuvo, no estoy al tanto de si ya se solucionó), así
   que tomé la desición de removerlo y dejar que sea el usuario el que elija la 
   imagen que desea como thumbnail utilizando la función de Imagen Destacada.
 * Puede que en una versión futura implemente algo similar a la funcionalidad que
   me brindaba TimThumb pero programado por mí. Sin embargo, por el momento tendrás
   que usar la función de Imagen Destacada de WordPress para setear tus thumbnails.
   Sé que es una molestia, pero prefiero que mi plugin pierda algunas capacidades
   mientras sea en pro de la seguridad.
 * Como solución alternativa, puedes instalar la versión anterior de mi plugin (
   2.1.4), bajar el script de [TimThumb](http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/) y reemplazar
   la versión que utilizaba mi plugin con la nueva. Eso sí, no puedo garantizarte
   que pueda ayudarte si algo no funciona como se espera (aunque puedo intentarlo).

 * I understand the above, but currently all my thumbs are blank as I never used
   the featured image in the past years, and it will be a pain to have to edit hundreds
   of old posts just to show a thumbnail.
 * I use YAPB (yet another Photo Blog). I asked about this a year ago (see [here](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/using-the-post-thumbnail-feature-with-wordpress-popular-posts#post-1733429)),
   but never got an answer.
 * Could you use the cache from that or any other way to just create the thumbnail
   from the first picture in the post if there is no featured image?

 * Sorry about that. I’ll check the YAPB plugin you mentioned and if possible I 
   might integrate it with my plugin.
 * In the meantime, I suggest you assign a thumbnail only to the posts that are 
   listed as popular so that your visitors can see them.

 * Entiendo perfectamente la prioridad en lo que se refiere a la seguridad del plugin.
 * En mi caso no puedo utilizar la imagen destacada por problemas de diseño, pero
   intentare hacer lo que me comentas.

 * Hi Hector,
 * As the current TimThumb version is secure (2.8.2 I think), you might want to 
   add it back in, or at least give the option.
 * I added it manually and it works.
 * Still would love to see a YAPB version/option though. Yet Another Relater Posts(
   YARP) works fine with YAPB, maybe you can check their templates that come with
   the plugin.

   it out over the weekend 🙂
