[Plugin: WP e-Commerce] How to handle many variations in wp e-commerce?

Hi all

I’m hoping someone can give me a suggestion of how to get round the limiting problem of many variations.

I sell ergonomic chairs on my website and use WP E-commerce plugin. As my chairs have many optional features I have quite a lot of variations. I’ve managed to get this working ok, however when I add a variation for colour/fabric it’s there are just too many options for e-commerce to cope with.

I’m wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a solution that could work. I’ve seen someone created a colour selection chart where you can click on the colour you want. I’m assuming this would still link it with variations functionality and therefore would overload in the same way with the numerous options.

Alternatively, I’m wondering if it’s possible to create a text box that the user could write the colour name/code they would like, with this info pulled through on their order details.
