 * We added a product, is it just suppose to display along with the checkout options
   or do we have to hack or add code to our theme?

 * Should not require significant technical knowledge. The product you added should
   show up on the products page. It would appear that your template in your theme
   are probably missing the the_content() call. None of your pages appear to have
   content.
