# [Plugin: WP Email Capture] Error:Wrong confirmation code

 * I’ve been getting emails from a multiple users who receive this error when they
   click their confirmation codes:
 * Error:Wrong confirmation code
 * Anyone have any idea what parameters cause this error?
 * More importantly, how can it be fixed?

 * I’m not sure – I’ve installed the plugin on a server and tried subscribing and
   getting subscribed okay.
 * Are people clicking the same link twice? Are you deleting the “Temporary emails”
   a lot (like multiple times a day)
 * What’s your account? I can test it my end.

 * Hey there Rhys. Thanks for getting back to me.
 * I am not deleting my Temporary emails list so perhaps that is what is causing
   the issue (currently at 225 unconfirmed emails). For my own curiosity though,
   why would that be causing the error?
 * One concern I had though is will deleting the temporary emails list make their
   specific link inactive though? I’ve been hesitant to purge that list because 
   my thought was that the user simply hasn’t opened the email yet so I wanted to
   give them time to do so before I forced them to potentially resign up without
   knowing why…

 * Hi Jeff,
 * I have just signed up successfully.
 * The temporary emails won’t be causing an issue (I’ve had successful signups from
   sites with temporary emails running into the thousands). I think what is happening
   in your instance is people are clicking on the link to view the PDF and then 
   clicking on it again at a later date.
 * My advice is rather than link to the PDF, link to a page on the site with a link
   to the PDF. State on that page to bookmark this page if you wish to access it
   again.
