 * I have the same problem. There has been numerous posts for this issue, and I
   am a little bit confused of how people can use it.
 * To my understanding it seems to be by design that you will need to login through
   pbpbb, as there is one interface required. But I don’t know whether people who
   can successfully use this plugin have another way of editing their wordpress
   settings, enter blog entries, work on the css files etc. Because regardless what
   I did and I redid everything from scratch, followed the instructions, the widgets
   and all, still the same issue. I am not going to post the details here but if
   anyone interested [this is one of the threads ](http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-wp-phpbb-bridge-cannot-login-to-wp-admin-redirected-to-forum-login?replies=86)
   about this problem.
 * Can someone who is using this plugin successfully tell us how they work on their
   wordpress settings and blogs, etc? I started to doubt myself that I am looking
   for the wrong thing!!!

 * Same problem here.
    I wish the documentation was more clear than this.

 * Yes, it is documentation problem
    Check the following 1)
 * >  Here’s how to fix the problem;
 * If you need immediate access to wp-admin then all you need to do is FTP into
   your WordPress plugins directory and rename the wp-phpbb-bridge plugin folder
   to something else. You’ll be able to access wp-admin once again. The problem
   however is that the bridge function of the plugin is still enabled in MySQL…
   Here’s the fix for that…
 * Login into phpMyAdmin from your CPanel and open your WordPress database. Search
   for wpb_active and select all the DB tables before clicking Go. You’ll now see
   the row wpb_active, click on edit. Change both “yes” values to no. You now have
   your wp-admin back!
 * This time be sure to enable the phpBB3 Users Widget before “turning on” the bridge.
 * Dear programmer, please correct your installation instructions, talk about a
   dark cloud over a potentially brilliant plug-in!
 * 2)
 * > you need to have your forums as a sub folder of your wordpress blog.
 * for example:
    domain.com/wordpress/
 * your forums need to be:
    domain.com/wordpress/forums/
 * otherwise you will have issues with the wp-admin page..
 * The developer just forgot to add this **IMPORTANT **information

 * @Yiubox, many thanks for detailed guide to this plugin.
 * Can you please comment on how well this is working for you? One of the latest
   posts says it slowed down the site considerably. Did you experience this?
 * I was unable to install it and got this error message:
 * Warning: require_once(/public_html/sfwp/wp-content/plugins/wp-phpbb-bridge/inc/
   wpbb_functions.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file
   or directory in /public_html/sfwp/wp-content/plugins/wp-phpbb-bridge/wp_phpbb_bridge.

 * I’m having the exact same problem here. Once activated I can’t gain access to
   the WP admin, it just continues to redirect me to my forum index page.
 * Is it possible to have this work with the forums on a subdomain instead of a
   folder? What info can I change to make it work correctly with a subdomain?
 * I have my forum installed on a subdomain from my WordPress site (WP site: [http://chowchow.org/](http://chowchow.org/),
   phpBB Forum: [http://forum.chowchow.org/](http://forum.chowchow.org/)). Both
   are on separate databases.
 * I logged out and back in, yet still going to the admin URL simply redirects to
   Forum index.
 * I can’t even deactivate or change the pluggin settings now, I have to rename
   the plugin folder name in order for it to become inactive. How can I get this
   to work right? What am I missing here?
 * Any help would be great as I really need to have a solution for integrating the
   two so I can begin to utilize the BuddyPress features with the existing forum
   members. I did pay a donation for the license.

 * Yuibox, I tried searching for: **wpb_active**, but nothing comes up, so I can’t
   disable it.

 * I found it, you had it spelled wrong or maybe the developer changed it. You should
   be searching for: **wpbb_activate** (correct) not **wpb_activate** (wrong). I
   was able to change it to **no** and access my wp-admin.

 * i cant understand why noone read the installation instructions…
 * **from plugin page :**
 * >  Installation
   > Once you have your WordPress and phpbb forum set up, download and install the
   > WP phpBB Bridge plugin and activate it. (Make sure you use the same credentials
   > for both WordPress and Phpbb Admin user: Name/email/pass)
   >  Note: There is a
   > difference between activating the plugin and activating the bridge. You must
   > activate the plugin first in order to see the WP phpbb widgets, but DO NOT
   > activate the bridge just yet.
   > Go to menu Appearance/widgets. (You will find 4 new widgets)
   >  Drag & drop the
   > widget called “phpbb3 Users Widget” to the widget area of your template to
   > activate it. If you want you can activate all widgets but make sure that you
   > fill the form “forums” with the id’s of phpbb forums you like, to get topics
   > from in widget “Phpbb3 posts widget” Go in menu: «WP phpBB Bridge» and complete
   > the paths for config.php and ucp.php. Typically it should be similar to this
   > depending on your file structure:
   > Path to config.php: /home/content/html/wordpress folder/forum folder/config.
   > php
   >  URL to ucp.php: [http://YOUR-WEBSITE.com/phpbbfolder/ucp.php](http://YOUR-WEBSITE.com/phpbbfolder/ucp.php)
   > Now activate bridge.
   >  That’s it !! You’re good to go…
 * you can also see how to install it in this video :
    [http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HyL6XLLYlys](http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=HyL6XLLYlys)
 * If you’ve completely botched this up, there are a few things you can do:
    1.)
   The easiest method is to go to your website FTP, locate your wp-content folder
   > plugins and completely delete your PHPBB bridge plugin
 * and/or
 * 2.)If you need immediate access to wp-admin then all you need to do is FTP into
   your WordPress plugins directory and rename the wp-phpbb-bridge plugin folder
   to something else. You’ll be able to access wp-admin once again.
 * The problem however is that the bridge function of the plugin is still enabled

   your wp-admin back!
 * hope this helps and isn’t too confusing. Good luck!

 * Thanks for the response zeos.
 * However this does not address the issue about being able to access the wp admin
   with the plugin activated. The admin should always be available.
 * Also in my database the value to search for is not wpb_activate, but instead
   it was wpbb_activate.
 * I would like to use the plugin, but I also must have full access to the wp admin.
 * One other note, the serial number is not registering. It does not save it.
