 * [@webtix](https://wordpress.org/support/users/webtix/) – which plugins are you
   trying to rollback so I can reproduce this? Are they on WordPress.org ?

 * Thanks … I am trying to rollback Yoast SEO
    ([https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/))
   version : 2.3.5
 * Cheers

 * Hi [@webtix](https://wordpress.org/support/users/webtix/)
 * We’ve had tons of folks rollback Yoast SEO recently without a hitch. Do you happen
   to have another plugin installed that manages updates like Easy Update Manager(
   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/stops-core-theme-and-plugin-updates/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/stops-core-theme-and-plugin-updates/))?
 * Generally, this sounds like a plugin conflict of some sort. Try disabling ALL
   other plugins besides WP Rollback and Yoast SEO. If it works as expected then,
   start re-activating each plugin one by one until you find the problem again.
   Then let us know which one caused the issue and I’ll see if we can duplicate
   the problem locally.
 * Thanks!

 * I really appreciate your support, unfortunately that didn’t solve the problem
   but I will keep looking into it. Thanks

 * I am having the exact same issue. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

 * I think my biggest suggestion would be to delete Yoast SEO from your site completely(
   all your settings will be saved though, don’t worry) and then log into your site
   via FTP and make sure it’s totally gone from the plugins folder. Then install
   it again via the “Add New” screen.
 * My other thought is that perhaps your host has additional security in place for
   installing plugins. I’ve seen some hosts require an FTP password during the plugin
   install process. Do you have security like that by chance?

 * My site does require an ftp password. Is there a way around this so that I can
   still use your plugin?

 * I think we’ll have to update the plugin to account for that, but the problem
   is that the host is basically hyjacking the plugin install/upgrade process and
   there’s no way for us to know for sure how exactly they do that since different
   hosts manage it in different ways.
 * Which host do you use? Maybe we can get access to a test account from them so
   we can duplicate the problem and find a fix.

 * Servint is the hosting service I use. Thank you for your time, I ended up reverting
   the yoast plugin manually, but I’m sure your plugin will come in handy in the
   future 🙂
