 * I’ve got 2.7.1 installed and now when there is an update to a plugin currently
   installed it gets to the unpacking step and stalls:
 * **Downloading update from [http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/add-to-any.zip](http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/add-to-any.zip)

   Unpacking the update
 * This happens on brand new plugins as well. Didn’t have any problems whatsoever
   with 2.7.0 so it seems something in 2.7.1 borked up the permissions or something.
 * When I ftp into my site and go to /wp/wp-content, the zip files of the plugins
   are their and fully downloaded but they never get extracted.
 * I’ve tried chmod’ing to 777 with no luck, it’s currently at 755.
 * Any help would be appreciated.
 * Thanks,
    Tom

 * Try downloading the plugin zip to your local machine, then use the **Install
   a plugin in .zip format** in Plugins->Add New.

 * that gets stuck in the unpacking stage as well.

 * ok, got it fixed. I deactivated a number of plugins and reactivated one at a
   time followed by doing and update of the plugins that had updates available and
   they all installed properly. Seems one of the deactivated plugins allowed me
   to update again, weird.
 * UPDATE:
    I think it was the WP-DowloadManager 1.4.0 that was the problem. When
   I activate that, no plugins will install. When I deactivate, plugins install
   normally.
